I was driving from Scottsdale, AZ to San Antonio, TX on December 26, 2008. At about 9:30-9:45pm, we hit black ice on IH 10 eastbound just west of Lordsburg, NM (0.1 miles before mile marker 19). Our Explorer slid off the road to the right and started rolling. While we were flipping, the dog and cat were thrown from the car. We were able to find the cat (Caesar), but the dog (Noddy) ran away. There were many accidents that night, and multiple fatalities...so we know we were very lucky. I had a broken foot, broken jaw, and separated and chipped shoulder. I was transferred to San Antonio to continue my medical care near my parents. I had to have my jaw wired shut, and it will be wired for 2-4 more weeks. I will remain in San Antonio for at least 2 more weeks for medical treatments.
Noddy is a black male greyhound; 9 years old; ~70 pounds; looks a little chocolate brown/black in the sun; has a very small white patch on his front chest; he was not wearing a collar; he is not micro chipped; he does have tatoos inside both ears from the track. We love and miss him very much.
